Good morning Tom. I am excited to try these tools, but I am not able to get the tools to show up in our Worklfow 5 SaaS subscription. I followed the steps listed here https://www.geowidgets.io/docs/geocortex-workflow-activities/getting-started, but the tools are not showing up in Workflow 5. I went to the Marketplace, added it to our AGOL organization, shared it with an existing group I already had in our organization, logged back into Workflow 5 with my AGOL account, but did not see the tools listed. Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong? Thanks so much for your help.

Jeff, Did you register Geocortex Workflow with your ArcGIS Online organization or with your Portal? Please feel free to give me a call after 10:30 and I would be happy to assist. We are still working through some of the unique challenges of ArcGIS Marketplace. Best Tom 303-986-6740 Sent from Nine

    Tom,

I tried to add the widgets to Portal for ArcGIS 10.7.1 and workflow  5.13.0 (On premise) according to https://www.geowidgets.io/docs/geocortex-workflow-activities/getting-started/. In the SAAS environment it is not showing up (even after restart servers).

Then I tried SAAS with online portal and it working fine. What is going wrong?

@Erik Kuipers? We have only seen two issues where this happens. First, you just need to clear your browser cache. In Google Chrome, open your Developer Console (F12) and right-click on the Reload icon selecting "Empty Cache and Hard Reload". The other is that you may receive a CORS issue if you use a second-level or greater sub-domain (e.g. gis.yourorg.domain.tld). You will need to send us your domain name so we can white list it on our CDN (https://www.geowidgets.io/answers/geowidgets-activity-pack-is-blocked-by-chrome-security/)

Please feel free to contact me directly either here or through geowidgets.io.

    Best,

    -Tom

After adding my url to the CDN it was working. Thanks Tom

Hi Tom. I'm trying to install the conversion tools on our On-premise portal. Running into the CORS error. Could you please add https://maps.orcity.org to your white list and see if that solves the issue? Thanks!

Thanks Tom. I tried it yesterday and it worked just fine.

This morning however the activities are not showing up in the toolbox, at least in Chrome. They appear in Opera. Looks like Chrome might have done an upgrade to v81, which may be affecting things.

@Chris Dunlop? Oops. Forgot an important part. Once the hostname is added to our CDN and we refresh the cache, we will need you to delete your cache on your computer. In Google Chrome, this is done by opening the Developer's Console (F12) and then right-click on the Reload button and select "Empty Cache and Hard Reload".

If that doesn't work, please feel free to email us directly at geowidgets@digitaldataservices.com

Perfect, that worked. Thanks Tom. You guys have developed some pretty slick tools!

@Chris Dunlop? Glad we could fix that. To get you started, we have a demo viewer at https://maperture.digitaldataservices.com/gvh/?viewer=geowidgets where you can test the Features to Spreadsheet activity. It also links to the documentation and the demo workflow to see how we utilize the activity at https://www.geowidgets.io/docs/geocortex-workflow-activities/conversion-activities/features-to-spreadsheet/

FYI, I saw your post about offline support. We do offer our Activity Packs for self-hosting which is critical for PSAPs. Please check your welcome email and contact us if you have any questions.

  • Richard Webb

@Tom Neer unless we are talking Geocortex Web server? (not Portal domains) which are brudevweb.ems.tas.gov.au and bruweb.ems.tas.gov.au

Hi Tom, your export featureset to shapefile is working great for wkid 102100 but I'm having trouble with 28355 defined as Feature Set and Features wkid.

@Richard Webb? Richard, in each Query Activity, you should be able to set the Output Spatial Reference to "=28355" (see image). Let the ArcGIS server do the heavy lifting. I have tested with several different projections and it seems to work.

Your projection should be supported checking against https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/projected-coordinate-systems.htm

The non-standard crs warning is part of the esri.js library but should not cause an error. If you have an REST endpoint against which I can test, even just some bogus data. I can see what is going on better.

    Thanks @Tom Neer? ,

I'm attempting to use your tool in the context menu like the out of the box tool.

I guess I could rework this to use a query for reprojection but thought it neater to access the featureset via context, reproject then export.

I can provide you access to a 28355 end point if you need, provided I can pass you credentials securely.

All our library does is convert a feature set to a shapefile. We don't have any built-in/client side projection capabilities. You would need to project the featureset before using our library. There is an Esri client side projection library but I can't remember off the top of my head whether that is accessible in Workflow or not. Projection was not needed for the project when we created the Featureset to Shapefile activity and seemed redundant with the existing Esri library. I would recommend submitting an Idea to VertiGIS to expose the Esri projection library, create your own custom activity, or hire us to do it. The client side library is available in both the 3 and 4x version per https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/js-api-arcgis/mapping/introducing-the-client-side-projection-engine/ Sent from Nine

Thanks Tom, I am using the Project Geometry activity before your Features to Shapefile as per attached workflow.

    Hi @Tom Neer? ,

I've changed my workflow to use a query that outputs 28355 wkid all is working for singlepart polygons in the output zip. Multipart polys seem to produce an empty zip however.

  • Tom Neer

@Richard Webb - Glad that fix worked. What you are experiencing is correct. Our shapefile library only supports simple features.

The client whom we wrote that library for did not have a need or budget for support for anything other than simple features. If you are using multi-polygons, you would need to run the Featureset through Flatten (https://www.geowidgets.io/docs/geocortex-workflow-activities/turf-activity-reference/transformation-flatten/) to return simple features. The drawback with this in your case is your local projection. You would need to project the data into 3857 or 4326 to use Flatten.

We can look at what is involved to support multi-part geometries, but as I remember it was pretty involved. It is not anything we could get to for a month or two. We are currently booked with client work through mid-July.

    Hi @Tom Neer?

I tried using the Features to KML activity.

It seems that the feature's attributes are not taken into account (they seem to be in the demo video).

Is that a definitive change in the way the activity is behaving?

    Thanks,

    Regard,

Tom Neer - Will the ESRI Javascript API 4.x breaking changes affect these activities or any of the other geowidget activites?

    Hi Tom Neer,

We have been using the geoWidgets Conversion Activity Pack - convert "Featureset to Spreadsheet" and then "Save" this file as a mulit-tab spreadsheet but found that now it is suddenly failing with the latest release of VS Web due to the activity pack having been created using a deprecated version of Workflow SDK which are not supported in VS Web 5.25 or later. Can we get an updated version of this please as we need the multi-tab spreadsheet option in particular (and the ability to save this file). Can you help please?

    Thanks very much.

    Kind regards, Gael

Gael Cutress - Please contact me directly at tom.neer@digitaldataservices.com.

We have been updating all the Workflow Activity Packs over the last year from the Geocortex SDK to the VertiGIS Studio SDK when we have availability. These were developed years ago for a specific client and shared freely.

We are in the final phases of testing and can provide a link to a beta version. The new Activity Packs will support both ArcGIS JavaScript 3.x and 4.x. Contain improvements, especially in the Save File dialog. Will be combined into single group. The Conversion and Turf Activities are complete, and we are finalizing the Progress Bar. When formally released, we will start charging an annual maintenance fee ($249 USD/yr) to cover on-going maintenance and development.
