How do I add option for 'Draw Arrow'
Hi all,
I need some help adding the option to draw an arrow on the map as part of the draw tools. I'm transitioning my users from Silverlight to HTML5 and they are accostumed to using the 'draw arrow' option. Anyway to enable this in HTML5? Here are my particulars...
GE: 4.8.0.107
HTML5: 2.9.0
SLV: 2.5

thanks,
Jesse

Jesse,
Just add the Draw tool, it contains multiple stuff, including arrows, text, and various shapes.0 -
Hi Mike,
I've added the draw tool as you suggested and the draw arrow option doesn't show up.

What version of HTML5 and GE do you have installed? I am thinking perhaps I don't have the latest version, explaining why I don't have the draw arrow.0 -
Yes, that should be all you need. Once on the site, it will show up as a point with an arrow next to it. Click on that, and you will see the options. 0 -
Hi Mike,
The arrow option remains missing...

Sorry, your images didn't come through in the email. Yes, looks like you either need to add the tool like Bobby Jo says, or upgrade to a newer version where the tool is included by default. 0 -
Hi Bobby Jo Close,
I tried the best answer identified. Curious I don't have a drop down for the AddMarkup Command - my library is missing this command ... I'm now thinking an upgrade is necessary for me to access this tool command.

Thanks Mike and Bobby Jo Close for the direction...
Can a Latitude developer tell me what version upgrade I need to do to get the draw-arrow option? Does it involve upgrade of both GE and HTML5 or just HTML5?0 -
It has been there for awhile, but the latest version is MUCH faster... 0 -
Jesse, If you type AddMarkup in the Command field it will work. 0 -
Hi Bobby Jo Close,
I tried that. Although able to enter AddMarkup on the command field; I get wierd functionality.
I am able to draw an arrow by dragging after placing a point but once I release the mouse button, the black arrow disappears. I can continue to click a point and drag revealing an arrow...but the drawn arrow never stays on the map.0 -
Can you use the edit tool to change the Style to make it visible? 0 -
Hi Jesse,
It looks like version 2.8 of the viewer is the minimum version you would require to have custom markup, it will require Essentials 4.7. The improvement was tracked as GVH-11282.

Thanks Bobby,
I put 'AddMarkup' in the Command field and, as it turns out, that worked! Still not clear why it didn't work for me before.
Here is my Edit Tool Configuration:

Here is the new 'Draw Arrow' tool next to the Multi-tool Draw Tool which came from Available Tools.

Here is the resulting Mark-up Style changes that can be done, pretty cool there's a customize option as well.

Thanks again Bobby Jo Close and Mike for all your help!

Thanks Wayne for that bit of research on custom markup - I'm beyond the minimum for GE and HTML5 for that and have confirmed 'customize' is available for me, cheers! 0
