Default values not populating in fields

I have added an editable feature service to a Geocortex Essentials map with a couple of fields that have default values set.  These fields are actually in a related table.  When I go to add a new related record, those field do not automatically populate with the default values.  Is that something I need to set up using the Essentials Manager?  Some other way?  THANKS!
