Firefox and HTML5 viewer - zooming with wheel performance issues

When zooming in or out using the mouse wheel with the HTML5 viewer in Firefox, it does not smoothly zoom in and out then redraw.  It stays at the current extent until zooming on the wheel stops entirely then does a redraw.  Chrome and IE both work as expected with a smooth experience zooming in and out.  This issue is firefox specific.

 

- I am using GVH 2.10.0

 

- Issue at Firefox version 61 - and still there after upgrade to 63.x

 

- Issue not present in IE or Chrome

 

- Disabled all add ons in Firefox, restart try agian - issue persists

 

- Diabled smooth scrolling and hardware acceleration options in Firefox - issue persists

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  I'm in the same boat with this. We're running 2.11.1 and it's doing it the same things as mentioned. We cover this off in our training as it's more than nuisance value.

   

  IE, Edge, Chrome do not have this issue.

  We also have this issue, just in the Firefox browser. We are running GE 4.10.0 and GVH 2.11.0. Is this a bug in Firefox or in Geocortex?

  Hi Everyone.

  We've recently done testing against 2.11 as there were various performance improvements introduced in this release and were able to see improved load times in Firefox, along with our other supported browsers. I've retested the load times in 2.11.2 with Firefox 63 and was able to load the LA County sample site in generally under 8 seconds.

  Are you noticing other applications are loading slow in Firefox, or just the viewer? If this is only affecting your local machine, you could try clearning the browser cache in Firefox and reloading. After a search online, Firefox loading issues seem to affect a large number of people and some have found the reinstalling Firefox fixed the issue.

  Hi Stefan - I am not experiencing issues with load times.  It is the behaviour of the viewer when zooming in and out of a map that I am having issues with. The 'smooth' zooming effect you get before the redraw at the new extent is not present in firefox.  Not a bad idea though to try a clean install of firefox.

  I can confirm this behaviour. Zooming in or out in Firefox occurs only after the mouse wheel stops. Chrome, IE and Edge work as expected (i.e. continuous zoom)

  I am also experiencing this behaivour.  Vector and raster data jump around when using the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Chrome and IE do not have this same issue.

  Firefox 63.0.3 (Tested in both 32-bit and 64-bit)

  Viewer 2.9.1

  Essentials 4.8.2.24

  Hello Everyone,

  The upcoming release of GVH 2.12 includes an updated version of the Esri JSAPI (3.26), whivh resolves the zoom animation issues.
