Jamal - The Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 is based on Esri's ArcGIS API for Javascript 3.x. The upcoming Geocortex Web Viewer will support Esri's ArcGIS API for Javascript 4.x, which includes support for 3D scenes. A good overview of the differences between each version can be found at https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/guide/choose-version/index.html

Many thanks Tom Neer for the answer.

Just I wanted to know if the upcoming release of Geocortex will be taking care of the 3D\oblique imageries with equivalent tools to those available in the App I shared in my previous post.

You really need to look at Esri's documentation rather than Latitude's. The core technology is going to be defined by the ArcGIS API for Javascript 4.x, not the Geocortex Viewer. The sample application you linked was developed in Cesium. There may be similarities but there will also be differences. I would suggest taking a look at https://github.com/staehlli/3D-settlement-development which compares Cesium and ArcGIS API.

    Additional resources would be:

    Hi Tom,

I tested both cesium and ArcGIS API, it will be gorgeous if the new release of Geocortex Web Viewer support Esri's ArcGIS API for Javascript 4.x, which support 3D scenes.

We are excited for the upcoming release of the Geocortex Web Viewer. We have several clients who also are itching to start using 3D scenes in Geocortex Web Viewer. I was able to do some testing several months back and you can use 2D maps, 3D scenes, and a combination of both. We are looking forward to getting playing more with Geocortex Web Viewer when it is released.

In which GE\GVH release the 3D scene is expected to be available?

    Hi Jamal,

I believe you are referring to GWV and GMV, they are both in beta right.

They both use version 4 of the ESRI API that allows 3D whereas version 3 (GE/GVH) does not.

    Regards,
