what causes the highlight to be off center from the highlighted feature?

Just curious if anyone know why the highlight and pushpin of a selected feature would be not be directly over the point symbol.  Is it projection differences?  Something that can be set in manager?

  I've had this problem too and the only fix I've found is turning off instant search. From what I remember from some research a while back appearently instant search uses wgs84 no matter what your data is in, so when it returns resuslts the highlight coordinates are also in 84, placing it off of your point. Setting transformations in Arc doesn't help, I'd love to see if someone else figure out a fix.
