UploadData - automatically pass in a zipped shapefile

Is there a way to automatically upload a zipped file that contains a shapefile? I know one can use the UploadData command, but that requires the user to get involed. I'd like to streamline that step and automate it.

 

I know I could use the various workflow activities to unzip the file, then convert the shapefile to featureclass, etc... but the UploadData command does so much more. I would hate to write a lot of code for something that nearly does what I need.

  Hi Mike,

   

  When getting file data from the user, there must be some human interaction - we can't access the filesystem of the client from the viewer.

   

  To add data without requiring the user to upload it, it needs to be published to some web-accessible site such as a Portal.

   

  The Upload Data feature in the viewer does accept a zipped shapefile, which might be a good middle ground for your users.
