Selection Remains Active after Map Tip is Closed

Good morning,

 

This is an issue I've observed for a while, but I'm finally trying to find a fix for it. I've noticed that when a user closes a map tip, the selected feature remains selected. We have a few workflows that check for selected features before they run, and if you use one of these workflows after closing a map tip the workflow will behave as if there is still a selection. For example, if you use the Zoom to Selected button it will zoom to and rehighlight the last feature a map tip was opened for.

 

The only way to clear the selection without refreshing the browser is to do an identify or search to create a new selection, then clear that selection. 

 

Is there a command I can add to the config files and my workflows to clear the map tip selection properly?

  Hi Pennie,

   

  What version of Essentials and viewer are you using?  The behaviour changed quite a bit over the releases.

  Hi Wayne,

   

  We have viewers using 2.9 and 2.11, and the behavior occurs in both. The current Essentials version is 4.10, but I think this was happening back when we were still using 4.7 too.

  Hi Pennie,

   

  That's not normal / default behaviour.  Can you drag LA County sample site into your sites folder and see if it does the same thing?  I suspect your Desktop.json.js file is different, causing the behaviour you are seeing.

  Hi Wayne,

   

  I added the LA County sample site to our sites, but I'm still seeing the same behavior from it. I had to add one of our tools that uses the GetSelectedFeatures activity in order to check.
