Data added from Layer Catalog off by Default

Is there any way to have the data layers that are added from a Layer Catalog to be off by default once they get added to a map?

  Hi Lisa,

   

  I am afraid there isn't, I would suggest adding this to the "Ideas" forum.  This was previously asked and the answer was -

   

  "We always make the layers visible because the most common use case we want to support is a user adding a layer that they intend to see/use immediately. We don't want users to add a layer, then wonder why they can't see it, then open the layer list, then find the layer again and enable it."
