Results non-grouped View - upgrade effects on results
Hello all,

We build a new server and installed GCE 4.10 and HTML 2.11.2 as an interim step before upgrading to the newest.
I copied a site that was built at 4.8.2 and HTML 2.9.1 to the new server and upgraded the template so it would work (and fixed other things).
Note: this site was using the fix to show "Results using the non-grouped view" as mentioned here:
https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCkba?sub-nav=kba&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_ARTICLE_SEARCH_RESULT&id=kA360000000PPcH
so the changed .json file from old site was copied to the new site to keep all changed code.
This is how the Results are displayed on the OLD server which is the expected display.

This is how the results are displaying on the NEW server with site copied over. Notice the HUGE gap between the icon and the description:

So - I was able to get around this by adding the following to the desktop.css in the Custom folder:
.results-list .list-menu-details {
margin-left: 0em;
}
Where previously through web dev tools, I could see the margin was set to a number greater than 0.
I am asking if this is what I should do to fix this or should I really do something else to fix this since this is a site that is reverted back to non-grouped results? You know, just be cause I can fix it that way might not be the way I should fix it in the long run. I have a few apps that require the non-grouped results.
Applicaitons that use the default results display work as expected. I do not need to alter the .css so I feel like it might have to do with the altered .json using the fix in the link above.
Thanks,
Carmen

Hi Carmen,
When encountering viewer upgrade issues, we recommend creating a new viewer and determining if the updated interface will work for your users. It's our hope that any interface changes we make are for the better and improve the overall experience.
If you do want to revert to the original results list, you can use our (updated!) article to do that:
