Basemap switcher flyout menu in Footer

In an effort to make a coworkers dream a reality, I enabled the footer in the HTML5 Viewer and moved the Basemap switcher down there - easy enough.  Unfortunately, in the footer, the basemap flyout-menu is not flying directly out to the side of the main basemap button, but instead, drops directly below the main button then flys out. This causes my footer to need twice as much real estate as I'd like it to have.  Is there some css tweaking or other method to get the flyout-menu buttons to not drop below the main button before they flyout?
