Buffering Task in workflow

Hello,

 

I have discovered that when the Buffer Task is executed in a 60m "Mailing Notification" workflow, the resulting buffer feature is actually coming up about 22m short.

 

I have read some threads on the forum dealing with this issue (especially this one: https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&criteria=ALLQUESTIONS&id=9066000000008psAAA) and have tried them with no success.

 

I will try to provide as much info as possible:

 

1. Working in Essentials Manager 4.7 & Viewer 2.8

 

2. A topographic base map is being used which sets the map coordinate system to WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere (WKID: 102100)

 

3. All other layers are NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_17N (WKID: 26917)

 

4. In the workflow's BufferTask the Out Spatial Reference is set to New ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Geometry.SpatialReference(102100)

 

5. When a the out of the box Buffer tool is run in the Viewer the buffer distance is correct.

 

6a. If I run the 60m Mailing Notification workflow in a "skeleton" Map with no Base Map it works.

 

6b. When I try to delete the Base Map from my existing Map, the data layers don't show.

 

I'm thinking it has something to do with the base map projection.  Any suggestions would be helpful.
