use search table without viewer

I have a search table in a secure site and viewer.  How can I use the search table without viewer?  How can I get the token for the viewer or site?

  Hi Hwa Saup,

   

  To consume a secured Essentials resource you must use the Essentials Client API, which is embedded in the Viewer.  I don't know the details offhand on how you generate an access token using the API, and you would still need some sort of javascript engine to host the code to connect to Essentials.

   

  If you don't want to use the viewer API or javascript to consume this resource, please post to our Ideas to present your requirements to us, and we'll see if there is a way we can do it!

  Hi. Malcolm, 

   

  Search table API with an access token would be useful.  I want to provide a REST API to the project partners without giving them access to the database.  With large dataset, I find the Search table performs better than AGS REST service.

   

  The idea is to build a small application (either in Java or .NET) which can handle to get token and pass it to the search table to query.  So other non-GIS systems can integrate with the search table function. 

   

  I appreciate if you can provide some insight on how to achieve it.  I will post an idea also.
