Any way to implement field validation when saving shape/attribute changes?

I'm somewhat new to Geocortex, but I'm trying to implement field validation as a user attempts to edit a polygon/polygon attributes. I'd like to make certain fields uneditable, some of them required, that sort of thing. I'm hoping there's a setting for this in the Geocortex Manager, but I haven't found anything yet, so my assumption is this would have to be some kind of Workflow. Any help would be appreciated!

  I think I answered my own question - if the attribute field is set in ArcMap to not allow nulls, then published as a feature service, and then added to the Geocortex application, it appears to know that the field should be required.
