Shapefile Update within a Project

Morning,

 

 

While using Essentials v4.8 and the viewer being v2.9, if a shapefile has been added to a project and saved, the only way to refresh the shapefile is to detach it and then reattach it again.

 

 

But if the shapefile that is being referenced is changed, the viewer does not refresh the attached shapefile.

 

 

How can the saved project refresh the attached shapefile?

  If you add a shapefile to the map, it is uploaded to the viewer, and converted to graphics. There is nothing in a project that refers to the original shapefile, which could be on a users C: drive, for instance. And even if there was, the viewer wouldn't have access to it.

  Berend,

   

  Thank you for your response. I was hoping that after shape file was uploaded to the viewer, that it would maintain a link to the location/content of the file, But I guess not.
