Is there a way to export map with Highlighted features from results?

I have a workflow that allows user to select parcels (selected parcels are highlighted using "Show Results") and then export map to pdf. In my workflow I am using the "Send Web Request" activity and then passing my map export to a report. The export of my map does not include the actual highlight of the highlighted features, just the features themselves. Is there a way to include highlights?

  Yes... I take it that you're using the Export Map REST endpoint? You need to use the custom graphics parameter. Look at Messrs. Price and Burgerhart's responses on the essentials thread "Parameters example for using the REST export map"
