How to set time slider position programmatically

Is there a way to set the position of the time slider handle programmatically, from a workflow or from a custom module?

 

 

I tried both of the following, but the handle does not move.

 

 

                    this.app.map.setTimeExtent(timeExtent);

 

                    this.app.command("SetTimeExtent").execute(timeExtent);

  I think I have a solution that might work for you. Let me know if you're still interested. It requires going into the .js files and editing source code.

  Thanks, but I already solved this with a custom module, without modifying any .js file (which IMO is always a bad idea)

  Nice. That's the tricky part, how many lines of code makes it a bad idea. It was a few lines and reverts back to the source code if a few parameters don't get filled. I just have to worry about it when it's time to upgrade.

  Hi Berend, I'm trying to do something similar and have the time slider's extent change based on a query on a time aware layer. Was wondering how you used a custom module to come up with a solution on programmatically setting a time slider's extent?
