How to add metadata for layers in a viewer?

I have been tasked with adding the metadata  for all the layers for our Geocortex HTMl5 viewers. Where can I find a way of doing it?

  If the metadata is published somewhere, you can add a layer hyperlink.

  You can also set a short description (Layer settings, Details tab)
