Using DNS to login to Rest Manager won't work, reverts back to machine name
Hi - I will admit I haven't used Geocrtex in a while (almost 1.5 years), nor have I configured it in a while, but I am supporting a team who uses it heavily, so I am trying to help them.
We had to change the Windows Group that has access to the Rest Manager so the developers could login and create sites. If they attempt to login using https://my.dnsname.com/Geocortex/Essentials/RestManager they get access denied, but when they login using https://my.machinename.com/Geocortex/Essentials/RestManager it works. We have people who work off the domain, so they need to use DNS to sign in, and we can't remember/find where in Geocortex we make any changes to get this to work?
Can someone help by pointing us to the right Documentation or directions on how we make this work? When we go to the DNS name it redirects us to the machine name and then says page can't be found, with this appeneded to the URL,
RestManager/security/callback/windows/SK3xqa7N1YYU6mHp6pPqLu4wAAFNJfemDaPki3w_t5BWm1cAAAIApDmcVB7sIsEqcn46RP-rkY/

Hi Joseph,
You might want to check the Essentials Post Installer > REST API > Hosts list to ensure your desired host name is listed at the top: https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/latest/install-help/Default.htm#ge/install/web-components.htm#Hosts%3FTocPath%3DPost-Installation%2520Configuration%7CManage%2520the%2520Essentials%2520Web%2520Components%7C_____2
Another good idea is to run through the various URLs in Steps 3 and 4 here to ensure that these reflect the desired host name as well: https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCkbaDetail?sub-nav=kba&main-nav=essentials&id=kA6f200000091I8CAI
Thanks,Chris
