Geocortex Essentials - Post Installation - Geocortex Core Failed to Connect?
Hi All,
I'm attempting to install a fresh deployment of Geocortex Essentials 4.14.1 on a VM. The installation completed without any issue and I launched the Post Installation Configuration Wizard. I get right to the end of the Geocortex Core Setup where the program tries to connect to Geocortex Core. The operation timed out, and won't complete. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Below is a copy of the output details from the error log:

I should also mention, that the VM is running Windows Server 2019 with plenty of RAM and disk space. I'm running the install from and administrator AD account. IIS is enabled (this is the machine where my ArcGIS Web Adaptors currently live). 0 -
Hi Chris,
This sounds like an issue I had recently and may have to do with your server's security certificate. If you are working with a self-signed certificate, you want to be sure to leave the Enforce SSL box unchecked during your initial install. If you checked it, you'll need to uninstall/reinstall Geocortex to get access to the setting again. Once you have a CA signed certificate, you should be able to enforce SSL.0 -
Thanks Adam,
After consulting with Geocortex Tech support - that's exactly what I ended up doing. Seemed a bit weird to me at the time because the CA-signed certificate was already bound to the website in IIS where the Geocortex instance was created - but i guess until you enable SSL on it specifically in IIS it's still using the built in Self-Signed cert. Not very intuitive for initial setup.0
