Chrome / Esri Javascript single-click bug
Update: Google removed the change that introduced this failure.
We have received many reports from many customers encountering trouble with the latest Google Chrome browser and single-click viewer interactions (primarily Map Tips, Identify and adding vertices to lines and polygons) using the Geocortex Viewer for HTML5.
This issue is caused by an update to Google Chrome and the underlying Esri javascript API being used in the viewer. Esri has a bug report here: https://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/QlVHLTAwMDEzODY4NA==
Per Esri's bug report, the fix is to upgrade to Esri Javascript API 3.31 or later. For Geocortex customers, this means upgrading the Viewer for HTML5 to version 4.13 or later. At this time, 4.14.2 is the latest release so we recommend upgrading to 4.14.2 as soon as possible to avoid this bug!
Other applications that consume the Esri 3.x API (for example, those created using Web AppBuilder that consume 2d maps) may also be affected by this issue; the resolution is the same, to upgrade to a newer build that uses Esri Javascript API 3.31 or later.

Can you tell me if I should expect any issues upgrading directly to 4.14.2 from Essentials 4.11.0.94 with HTML5 viewer 2.12.1? ~ thanks

Hi Piper, you should be able to go straight to the latest from 4.11/2.12. We haven't required a staged upgrade for a long time, so I think any 4.9/2.10 version or later can be upgraded to the latest in a single operation.

Thanks Malcolm, myself and I'm sure others appreciate this information.

Thanks Jelle!
We've verified that Google's changes have been reversed and older viewers are working as expected.
We do still recommend upgrading to the latest version(s) of Geocortex software to stay current, but it is no longer required to upgrade to avoid this issue.
