Workflows and user rights in GeoCortex Essentials 4.8.4

We have given an Active directory groups rights to certain parts of a site. And that gives the side effect that some workflows don't work anymore. We get the following error:

There was a workflow error running activity: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

Workflow 'Eigenaar' failed

Unhandled exception: 'One or more errors occurred.' in activity '1.77: QueryTask'.

One or more errors occurred.

The current user cannot access the desired resource.

It suggests that the workflow is running with user credetials, who need more rights.

 

• Does anybody know if a workflow is uses the credentials of a user while running?
• And do you know which user is used?

  A workflow is run as the user of the app pool of Essentials (often a service account).

  If you want to know this user, add an Alert or Log activity to get the value of System.Environment.Username

   

  But I think this is not the issue here. Is the Query Service URL of the Query Task pointing to a public or secured URL?

   

  How is GeoWeb and ArcGIS secured?

  Thank you for your answer,

   

  The URL is not secured, apart from the fact that everything works inside our firewall.

   

  ArcGIS Server is not secured. And GeoWeb is secured via permissions to two Active Directory groups and a restricted permission to "Windows Integrated: all users".
