Can we trigger change events?

I need to fire a btn click without the user clicking the btn.

 

I need to do this because Workflow always takes the focus away from the results list within essentials - I want the workflow to stay open - while changing focus to the results list after a search has been made.

 

If not, the Workflow closes, and the users has to start from scratch for each individual search.

  Can't you just add another button and configure its "on click" event ?
