Query Task Timeout

I have a map service that returns a value immediately at the rest endpoint, but times out when queried by the Workflow Query Layer activity.

Is there something I can do - either in the map service or Geocortex - to get the Query Layer activity to stop timing out?

  Here is the ArcGIS Server error when executing the Query Layer activity from Workflow:

  Republishing the map service allows the Query Layer activity to work one time, but then all subsequent queries time out.
