Adding Selected Features to Layers Panel as a dynamic layer

I am doing a search of layers using a boundary of another layer i.e. suburbs and want to get the results to be combined and form a new dynamic layer on the same panel as the operational layers.

Is this possible?

How do I get the results either as a group or individually to be displayed on the layers panel?
