Disable the "add" button for related records
I would like to remove the add button for related records on my features so that the user is only using a specific workflow I've created for creating related maintenance records.
Can I turn this off?

Hi Alex,
Thank you for your question. For related records, since the record is being accessed from a main feature, some of its controls are inherited from the feature. In this case, if you disable the Edit button for the main feature, the add related records button will be hidden as well.
Similar to hiding the Edit/Delete buttons for features, we're not actually modifying the underlying feature's permissions, we're just hiding the button so you can still use a Workflow to let your user accomplish their task.
Hope that helps,

Okay, that can work. Though I like the Edit button being there: very obvious for the user.
I will have to add an edit button to the feature details then, since I have been overriding the Edit button with my own edit workflow to make the form nice.
Unless there is a way to override the "add related record" button? I currently have a button in the taskbar to add related records with a nicely formatted form.

Hi Alex,
I can certainly appreciate that. Let me speak with our App Designer team in case they have any insights, or perhaps to put in a feature request. I think the solution I described above is the only option currently, but I'll let you know once I hear back.

Awesome, thanks Phil, and the app designers!

Hi again Alex,
I had a chat with the App Designer team and they confirmed that there currently isn't a way of getting that a) I can edit the source feature, and b) I can't add related records state simultaneously. Restricting editing is the only path forward right now. You can remove the 'Add Related Feature' component from your app, but it doesn't remove the button, it just makes clicking it do nothing, and it will be reflected throughout all of your layers, not just a specific one.
It's something that we will consider a feature request and look at down the road, but is not currently possible.
Cheers,
Phil
